GLADE started with a simple concept: take the familiar gameplay of 'asteroids' (and its clones), but change the physics by adding rotational inertia. The resulting gameplay is both challenging and entirely unique. Despite its 2D gameplay, GLADE is visually striking, using OpenGL for elaborate visual effects.

GLADE is by Jim Babcock. It was written in the summer of 2002, but unpublished. It was revisited a few times since to add additional features.
